BACKGROUND HISTORY OF THE RESIDENCE LOCATED ON 12 MINATITLAN, ROMA SUR, MEXICO CITY
The original owners of the property were Don Manuel González and his wife Ignacia Huerta, both deceased. They were the paternal grandparents of its current landlord, Mr. Mario González Román. Manuel was active during Mexican revolution. Because of his political ideas, he was imprisoned. As responsible for the transport of the troops, he was a trains' conductor, the top position of importance on a train.
The "front house" - according to Mario's grandparents - was built in the 30s. The most devastating earthquake in the history of Mexico City took place in 1937, one year after the residence was built. It has resisted ALL the following earthquakes, including those of 1957, when the Independence Monument's Angel and the Cantinflas building collapsed, that of September 19, 1985. Same date in 2017, etc. In other words, the construction is SOLIDLY BUILT.
His grandparents used to say that then - in the 30s - Colonia Roma was considered a luxurious area where magnificent mansions surrounded by gardens were erected. Likewise, the area was full of streams of water and cornfields. In the "back house" there was a farm with fruit trees, such as figs, apples, pears, and they grew chickens, pigs.
Please visit this Website: LODGING PROGRAM FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONAL WOMEN, POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS. It's an altruistic, not for profit program supported, financed by Mr. Mario González-Román. Until recently the NY-based company www.roomorama.com quoted each of our 12 bedrooms between $ 90-100 USD.
Our lodging program is normally in great demand. The house is always full. Not all tenants, but we've had and
we have daughters of peasants, workers, policemen, masons, etc. If a person qualifies, she pays between
$ 3,500 and $ 4,500 pesos a month. It is a program to support gender causes, promote higher education
in women.
The original creator of this program was Mr. González-Román's mother, who passed away on April 13, 2013
- eight years ago. He owns it now. The property was inherited to him
by his mother. She used to say that before she died she wanted to
contribute to Mexico with a noble, non-profit cause to benefit
women.
When she passed away we started a costly project to provide the
best possible maintenance and lodging services. We wanted to
make the residence, modern, functional, attractive. To date we have
half a dozen decorative water fountains, a terrace garden,
residential security with state-of-the-art technology (CCTV
cameras, solenoids, motion sensors, sirens, alarms, automatic
closing doors, etc.), paintings, sculptures, as well as modern
sanitary facilities, finely decorated bedrooms, dining rooms, bars,
kitchens, including a beautiful bedroom, an imitation of a Quebec
Chalet, Canada with cherubs on the roof, an imitation ship cabin,
indoor green areas, a pagoda, hammocks, etc.
The ideal buyer is a person who wishes to acquire the property AS
IS. In this case including beds, household goods, refrigerators,
kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, ready to be occupied by
organizations that look after the interests of senior citizens, social
programs of assistance to support immigrants, retired
businessmen, women who require assistance, medical personnel
who need to report themselves to their work place in the vicinity,
close by, etc.
ADVANTAGES OF THE PROPERTY, CONSIDERING ITS
LOCATION
We are located in a hospitals’ area (half a block away we have the
Trinidad Hospital, 4 blocks away, the Metropolitano, 6 blocks away,
the Dalinde. Also, a short walking distance from the Mexico City
Medical Center, General Hospital), near the Mercado de Medellín,
Plaza Insurgentes, Metro and Metrobus Chilpancingo station.
Therefore, a short distance from the corner of Insurgentes and
Paseo de la Reforma, Mexican Senate, Embassies, the WTC
building, Colonias Condesa, Del Valle, Narvarte.
Central area, with great attractions, such as cinemas, theaters,
parks (Mexico, Spain, Plaza Luis Cabrera, Pushkin, López Velarde
Garden).
The street is considered relatively safe, with 24/7 street surveillance by security guards of the Trinidad Hospital, armed. The block where the house sits is 100% residential.
It extends into only two small blocks, which makes
it an extremely quiet, quiet street. Within walking distance we have
beauty parlors, pharmacies, restaurants,
schools, etc.
